Depart for Dumazulu Village. Meaning the "Thundering Zulu" is located in the heart of Zululand's Kwa-Zulu Natal region, near Hluhluwe Village and conveniently surrounded by the famous Hluhluwe/Imfolozi, Mkuze and St. Lucia parks.
Dumazulu is the only cultural village (approx 50 residents) in Zululand to have been personally opened by a Zulu King his majesty, King Goodwill Zwelithini , a direct descendant of King Shaka Zulu, bestowed a great honor upon the Village by placing the Royal Zulu seal of approval on the Village's authenticity and objectives.
The residents form part of the "Living Museum" and carry out age-old manufacturing traditions including spear, shield and clay pot making, basket weaving, intricate beadwork and Sangoma (traditional healer) bone throwing. The residents strive to authentically capture customs and traditions practiced during the reign of the famous Zulu King Shaka. The village flows through to the main dining area and bar where visitors can end off their tour enjoying a drink, followed by a visit to the Curio shop. The cultural experience culminates in spectacular and vibrant Zulu dancing.
